Privacy Policy

What we collect

  • Server logs and statistics. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical request data (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and gives us aggregate traffic statistics. We do not use these to identify individual visitors.
  • Read counts. When you open an event, we add one to that event's total for the day so we can show what is most read. We store only the event and the date — no IP address, cookie or identifier.
  • Preferences. Your theme choice (day/night) and map view may be stored in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
  • Messages. If you send a message through our feedback or report forms, we keep the message (and your email address, if you give one) only to reply and to handle your request. Messages are stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and forwarded to the editors’ inbox through the email delivery service Resend.
  • Support payments. If you support us, the payment is made on Buy Me a Coffee, not on this site. Buy Me a Coffee handles your payment details under its own privacy policy; we see only what it shares with creators, such as your name and any message you leave.

We do not run user accounts and we do not sell personal data. We do not set our own tracking cookies.

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and learn more at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through a certified consent message before personalised ads are shown.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the EEA, the UK or some US states), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, such as a message you sent us, and to object to or limit its use. To make a request, use our feedback form. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Embedded videos

Videos are played with YouTube's official embedded player, which is subject to Google's privacy policy.
